Jason Barlow is a prominent motoring journalist and broadcaster hailing from Northern Ireland. His television career commenced in 1998 when he was invited to co-present Channel Four's new automotive show, Driven, alongside Mike Brewer and James May. Two years later, he was personally recruited by the then-controller of BBC2 to take the helm of Top Gear, where he hosted 53 episodes prior to its 2002 relaunch featuring Jeremy Clarkson. While still under contract with the BBC, Barlow hosted the motoring program Wrong Car, Right Car from 2002 to 2003.

In more recent years, he has contributed to a variety of acclaimed projects, including several episodes of Channel 4's award-winning Dispatches, as well as behind-the-scenes documentaries for Sky One and Sky Movies, notably on the making of Danny Boyle's 2006 film Sunshine. He has interviewed renowned director David Lynch for Bafta's David Lean lecture in 2007 and hosted shows like TV's Greatest Cars and Movie's Greatest Cars for Sky One.

Barlow also serves as editor-at-large for BBC Top Gear magazine, is a contributing editor for GQ magazine, and frequently writes for The Sunday Times. His work enjoys international syndication, and he has contributed pieces to The Times, The Guardian, and The Independent. In 2003, he received a nomination for a British Press Award for his column in the Daily Telegraph. Additionally, he has provided consultancy services to notable clients such as TAG Heuer, Microsoft, and Ferrari. Barlow holds a law degree from the University of Manchester and a postgraduate diploma in journalism from the University of Cardiff. He resides in Essex with his wife and two children.
