Dan Chișu is a prominent figure in the Romanian film industry, best known for his role as the founder of the DaKINO International Film Festival, the country’s oldest film festival, which has been celebrated annually in Bucharest since its inception in 1991.

Chișu has also made significant contributions to television, creating a number of documentaries that include "Around the World in 80 Days" (2004), "Reality of a Myth - Peruvian Shamans" (2007), and "The Earth's Taste in 80 Spices" (2008). His culinary television show, "I Eat, Therefore I Am," aired for four years on a national network, showcasing his passion for food and culture.

An accomplished author, Chișu has penned several books, such as "Alone Under the Shower" (2004) and "The Studio in the Forest of Cranes," alongside "100 Times About" and "Stories About Recipes," which consists of two volumes.

In 2008, he ventured into feature filmmaking with "WebSiteStory," an independent production that debuted in 2010. This was followed by "Ursul (The Bear)" in 2011 and "Si Caii Sunt Verzi pe Pereti (Chasing Rainbows)" in November 2012. Currently, Chișu is in the post-production phase of two new feature projects: "Deja Vu" and "Youtube Bazaar," the latter being a feature documentary. His work continues to enrich the landscape of Romanian cinema.
